Best Herbs for Cooking Fish

There are many different methods for cooking fish, but one of the healthiest ways is to prepare your fish with fresh herbs. Herbs can help season a plain piece of fish or kick up an already flavorful one. You might want to consider growing your own herbs in your garden for the freshest ingredients.

Choose some fillets of any firm fish you can find at your local fish market or grocery store. Wash the fish and chop your mixed fresh herbs. Try using dill, basil, marjoram, oregano, rosemary or many others. When your herbs are chopped, add some salt and pepper to taste. Dip your fish into the herb mixture and then wrap in aluminum foil. Refrigerate the fish for about an hour so the herbs can soak into the fish. Then take the fish out, drizzle with olive oil and cook on a grill for about ten minutes (five minutes on each side).

The herbs go well with a splash of lemon or lime juice as well as some melted butter on top.

If you want to try a tuna steak recipe, grab some thyme, salt and lemon pepper. Combine the herbs and rub the tuna with the mixture. Pour olive oil on the tuna steaks and grill in a pan for about ten minutes. When the fish is done, you can garnish with rosemary and thyme. This recipe is best served with white rice or grilled vegetables.
